Chapchar Kut
Towards the end of February the Mizos celebrate Chapchar Kut, a popular festival to welcome the season of plantation and sowing. On this day people of all ages,
young and old, men and women dressed in their colorful costumes and
distinctive head gears and jewelries, come together and perform various
folk dances, singing traditional songs accompanied by beating of
drums, gongs and cymbals.
Mim Kut & Pawl Kut
Mim Kut and Pawl Kut are two harvest festivals
celebrated in the last week of November or during first week of
December. The entire Mizo community enjoys the season joy and
relaxation as the harvesting ends. Traditional folk dances, songs and
games are main attractions of this festival.
Christmas
Christmas
is the most important festival of Mizoram. The festival continues for
three days - from 24th to 26th December. Great feasts are organized
among people and everyone get the opportunity to enjoy.
